This urban toll road serves the southwest sector of the capital, one of the most congested in the Federal District, and is part of the proposed 37 km of urban toll road that connects the access roads to Queretaro, Toluca and Cuernavaca and traverses the Mexican capital.
The new toll road connects Santa Fe with Periférico Sur along the Centenario Luis Cabrera route, with sections varying between four and six lanes. Of the 8 km built, 5 km are tunnels and viaducts. The toll road has open and electronic toll systems with four control points, which are compatible with electronic toll systems that OHL operates in the State of Mexico.
The five kilometers of the original project between Santa Fe and Avenida Luis Cabrera of Autopista Urbana Poniente were opened to traffic between October and December 2012. During the first half of 2013, is expected to be completed civil works of the second body, between las Aguilas and Luis Cabrera, as well as about two kilometers further expansion planned for the toll road link to the second floor of the southern ring.
