Peru

La Molina Angamos

  • Client: Metropolitan Council of Lima
  • Period: 30 years

Description of the concession

In January 2016, OHL Concesiones was awarded a concession to construct, exploit, operate, preserve and maintain the new La Molina Angamos urban highway for a 30-year term, following the signature of the concession contract.

The highway will have two roads with two lanes in each direction, throughout its route, with no overpasses, a 1.5 km. gallery and a false tunnel under the Raúl Ferrero,  Primavera and Angamos avenues. Furthermore, it will have branch roads linking it to the main road networks, such as Vía Expresa and Carretera Panamericana, amongst others.

Benefits for society

The new concession, used to integrate the main service and business areas of Peru’s capital city, will link La Molina, Surco, San Borja, Surquillo, San Isidro y Miraflores, significantly shortening traveling times, traffic congestion and, consequently, the emission of polluting gas.

The design foreseen will endow the metropolitan area of Lima- with a population of 8.5 million- with a modern infrastructure, contributing relevant improvements to urban surroundings, and guaranteeing road safety in a densely populated and congested area.
